I actually wrote this last year but i never posted it
Mechanical World
By Michael Huenniger
Synthesis can bring us peace
Some kind of metallic fantasy
Wind blowing through extinct leaves
Robotic chirps to keep things alive
How can I admire such a counterfeit world?
Lakes filled with gasoline
Where am I to swim?
Approbation has taken another meaning
Why would I want to breath smoke?
It's such a hollow mechanical world
Buying breathes of fresh air
By the bottle
Nature now goes by another name
Our own imagination is now obsolete
We will soon feel
With the soul of a new machine
Prosthetic memories fill our heads
One false memento at a time
How tiresome will experience be?
Lime corroded love is all we'll feel
Hybridized tastes fill our mouths
It's such a hollow mechanical world
Downloading ourselves is only natural
How should I feel?
Take a look at this digimortal world
Rusted mountains will
Construct our view
Take a look at the fields
Of silicone waste
Spoiled you taking all that she has to give
Nothing is left but ourselves
